All alone... I am

The sky swarming with overshadowing clouds
Dreary, murky parallel with his own emotions
Raindrops softly fall and mask his deserted tears
His cries lost within the deafening thunder
Screaming for a familiar voice
Nothing in view but vast darkness

As though running through an endless maze
Searching for a trace of hope
Confusion consumes his mind
Looking to the sky for some clarity
In a quest to find someone to believe in

Glancing into the distance
He spots a flicker of light
Captivated he does not turn his gaze away

A shadow effortlessly approaches him
Stricken with fear he turns away
The shadow takes form and calls his name
Curious he faces it

This glow enters his heart
While filling light in his soul
Slowly hope appears in his eyes
Desire a plain smirk on his lips

Once puzzled boy has found his remedy

And then I realize he is me…

Without a happy ending…

Still searching for that flicker of light…
